It is told to us by two separate narrators, both of which do a great job. ‘The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad’ is a curious two-story feature, from 1949, that pairs a tale with characters from ‘Wind in the Willows’ alongside a re-telling of ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’. The styles of each are different too, though overall less visually sophisticated than previous Disney animated films. The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad is a 1949 American animated package film produced by Walt Disney Productions, released by RKO Radio Pictures and directed by Clyde Geronimi, Jack Kinney, and James Algar while Ben Sharpsteen is the production supervisor. The former is a lively version of Kenneth Grahame's book of animal adventures, including Mr. Toad, a rambunctious sort with a passion for motorcars. Basil Rathbone narrates the story. Sleepy Hollow is the Washington Irving story of a stuffy schoolmaster and his ability to win the love of the fair Katrina from the brutish Brom Van Brunt.
